Domaine des Sanzay

Les Bazilles

Varietal(s):

Chenin Blanc

Country:

France

Region:

Loire Valley

Type:

Dry White Wine

Why We Carry It:

Chenin Blanc is tragically under the radar in the United States. It has some of the weight of a Chardonnay (with none of the buttery, oaky, baked apple flavors) with the acidity of a Sauvignon Blanc or dry Riesling. This one has orchard fruit and wet stone aromas, is medium bodied and dry with an almost waxy texture and zingy acidity.

Food/Occasion:

Appellation:

Saumur

We tried this out at our staff Thanksgiving dinner this year and loved it! It stood up well to all the rich, hearty dishes on the table and the vibrant acidity kept it super-refreshing.
